The Deranged Reasons Jealous Men Hate Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce
The men who are obsessed with hating Swift and Kelce hate spending time with women but also thirst over other women who date other men.
This past Sunday, Taylor Swift did the terrible thing of attending the football game that her boyfriend, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, was playing in. Kelce’s team won, so he will be playing in his second Super Bowl in two years and his fourth in the past five years.
People having been “hating” her for appearing on their TV screens on Sunday ever since she went to Arrowhead Stadium in KC to watch Kelce and the Chiefs beat the Chicago Bears 41-10 in September. (Can you really blame the camera crew for constantly panning to her when there was no drama happening on the field?)
But some men “hate” her for more than just vague “anti-celebrity” feelings. Take the “hate” out of quote marks here. There’s a lot of vile misogyny tied up in the hate that is being expressed towards Taylor Swift and her fans. And it’s the kind of misogyny held by self-proclaimed heterosexuals who actually hate women and don’t want to be around women, the kind of misogyny that also sabotages their attempts to attract and have sex with any quality women.
I am not going to question any man’s choice in women. Everyone has their own standards and their own preferences. Who you like is your choice. But from any objective standard, Swift is an incredible catch for Travis Kelce. If the guy who made this tweet doesn’t like her, then what is it to him?
Rather, it’s the social media weirdos and misogynists like him who question another man’s tastes. They profess hate towards both Kelce and Swift because of their own misogynistic sentiments. I cannot psychoanalyze the reasons behind their misogyny and whether it isn’t just driven by jealousy. I have no way of knowing if the jumble of words those people put together are even their own thoughts or just socially engineered ramblings meant to drive engagement. It doesn’t matter.
The sentiment behind such spam tweets is representative of overaching themes expressed to attack women. It is also toxic to men because if men tried to follow those standards when they pursued women, they’d be denying themselves a lot of good women.
Taylor Swift is 34 years old
So she’s the same age as Kelce. That’s good for both of them! Of course, it would be fine if Swift were older than him or younger than him, too. Age is one of the stupidest (of many stupid) reasons to hate Swift.
If Kelce dated someone who was, say 24, maybe there would be a maturity gap between them. Maybe they wouldn’t have a lot in common. Also, it could look kind of weird in the media for a guy to date someone that young or younger, but, again, who am I to judge if the two people get along well and if it is what they want?
There are, however, lots of examples of men who marry women who are so much younger than them, and then when their wife ages, they resent them, and they demean women as “golddiggers”—even as they were only “digging” for youth and looks and were fully aware of the situation when they entered the relationship.
Taylor Swift has a long list of ex-lovers
But she still has a blank space for Kelce to write his name.
Why would having had a boyfriend or two or three or four in the past be a bad thing for a woman? It just means that she is desirable. It also means she likes to enjoy herself. She’s 34 years old. Of course, she’s going to have had some ex-lovers. If she was chaste until 34, that would probably mean she has very repressive views towards sex, and she probably wouldn’t be a very fun woman to be with.
Kelce, for that matter, also had an ex-girlfriend (and probably more—I didn’t look it up, but I know of at least one), and he appeared on a dating show one.
Also, women and men can learn from experience, and we can get better at both sex and relationships in general from what we learn in past relationships. Some women don’t learn how to express their desires and how to enjoy themselves in bed until they get a little bit older. That is largely because society tries to shame women for matters relating to sex.
If you are subscribing to My Pen, Her Whip, you might be the kind of man who likes a woman to be active—neigh, even dominant—in bed, and you might have had the experience where you find older women are better at it. I have no idea what Kelce’s or Swift’s sex lives are like. I assume Kelce is no sub, but I might also guess that he doesn’t like a dead octopus.
Taylor Swift is sexy
I don’t need to write a paragraph about this one.
Taylor Swift is rich
Travis Kelce has earned enough money in his All-Pro football career, and he has a strong brand image to continue earning money from endorsements after he retires. I don’t think he’s dating Swift for her money or fame. But she is much richer than he is and will continue earning this much money for a much longer time. (Female singers have longer careers than football players these days!)
Taylor Swift likes to tour and travel the world
And Travis Kelce flew to Argentina to see her perform! How cool is that?
Who is the guy saying it’s a bad thing if a girlfriend or wife is away sometimes for work? Does that guy want to be with his hypothetical girlfriend every second of every day forever? I mean, cool if that’s what you want. People can have their own desires. But those are the men attacking Kelce for his choice.
Kelce is going to retire from football soon—he can’t play much longer than two or three more years—so he would have the freedom to follow Taylor around the world if he wanted.
Taylor Swift RUINED Travis Kelce’s career
This is the same bullshit thrown at women whenever they date a man. Even though Kelce caught seven passes for 69 yards and a touchdown in the first game Swift attended, and he just caught 11 passes for 116 yards and a touchdown last week in the AFC Championship Game, he had a slight slump—by his extremely high standards—in the second half of the season, so the haters blamed the woman as usual.
Kelce is just getting older, and the Chiefs as a team had a second-half slump. Kelce set career highs last year at age 33, when he had a different girlfriend (so clearly having a girlfriend doesn’t distract him—he’s a grown ass man), so the drop off from his career high season of 1,338 yards to 984 yards this season was more pronounced than if he had gone from 1,125 yards (in 2021) to 984.
