Josh went to Roppongi that night intent on meeting a mistress.

Lights and signs lit up the streets with bright colors that screamed fun and sex. Women walked in thigh-high boots that Josh couldn’t help but stare at; he’d prefer to stare at them from under the soles. 

He felt excited and on edge. He was the only single gaijin he saw walking alone. When he saw the establishments with bottles of fine-looking wines and whisky lining the windows, he thought: Can I afford to be here?

Six women’s ankles and feet, two each clad in a different kind of sexy shoe, came out of one bar door. Josh salivated over their feet like any other guy might gawk at a woman's chest.
